Today was the last day of our second Indian Summer. According to the weather experts it will rain and get progressively cooler for the remainder of the month.
This last few days of +20'c weather was a nice surprise and offered unexpected opportunities for hiking in warm dry conditions with leaves rustling under foot. I managed three good photo sessions in the last week where I took, bracketing included, an average of 100 shots. So, 300 photos and out of that I have submitted 5 pictures with the possiblity of another 3-5. The funny thing is I find that the shots I was sure of at the time aren't the ones that, after processing, I submit for your purusal.
All I can say is: I LOVE THE GENIUS WHO INVENTED DIGITAL.
You can say that again! I used to spend a fortune on film rolls and end up with only a handful of usable images. It didn't help that I never could figure out how to use the bloody thing lol. I got a digital camera a few years ago but found I was using so many AA batteries that even that was getting cost prohibitive, especially in Europe. I finally had to replace that one tho and got one with a rechargeable battery. Much friendlier on the budget. We had the same nice weather here too btw. It actually snowed a little bit yesterday morning tho
Haha yes indeed, digital is the ultimate gift to beginners. That's equivalent to what, 12 rolls of film? As a beginner digital pays for itself really. I've easily done about 1,000 photos with my camera already and it's only a month old!
I'm at 1800+ and counting since I got my camera in Sept. It's not even that I have a lot of bad shots I just take so many of the same thing with slight variations and I don't like to post repetitious subjects. I usually do 10 or more HDR's of one subject, varying exposures and angles, so that's 30 shots right there and that's more than a roll of film. Anyway it sure beats waiting for development. I could never go back to that.
