Highland Manor by Rebacan Highland Manor by Rebacan
This gracious home is now a hotel/hostel run by my nieces in-laws. We were their guests for a night in their private quarters.

The house is located on the shores of Loch Lommond.

Yes it is quite impressive. It has many of it's original features inside as well but it is a hostel so it's not fancy. :)

Oh how lucky to stay in a castle. Beautiful shot Rebecca. The light is awesome and that little of wisp of a cloud just adds a bit of romance.

Thanks Candace. Yes it really was just luck. The couple who are running it, my niece's in-laws, are New Zealanders with an exceptional sense of adventure and this is the current leg of their world travels. It just happened that we also had planned a trip to Scotland while they are there and they said come and visit so we did. :)

This was a weird one. I posted it and within 24 hours I had more than 125 faves. Someone with some connections must have picked it up. It was amazing to watch the numbers climb. :eyepopping: My next closest is 80 and that took a year.

I explained about the car... see Tony's comments. :) and as far as the horizon goes...150 people can't be wrong.

Oh, before I forget, I shot this at about 6:45 a.m.

This is nice. Was this morning or evening when you shot it? The sandstone colouring around the entrance is quite rich and makes me think that there is a bit of evening light on it, but the short shadow around the fountain suggests otherwise.
I love the old hotels made from former manor houses, they have so much more character than the glass and plastic ones. The car doesn't fit in very well with this scene though and your horizon seems to be tilted a little bit :)

Thanks. I just wish the car was a Rolls Royce or Bentley or Ferrari or something that looked like it belonged. As I stated on another comment I took out some cars and a motorcycle but I can't seem to work around that window without spoiling it so I gave up and left this one in. :D

First you need the land on Loch Lommond. :giggle:

haha
no, I'll just buy a plot of land that looks similar
in Australia (my country) or England (my ancestral homeland)
then steal the floormap of it
and rebuild something very very similar
=D
